Every August, 12,000 joggers, runners, and elite athletes gather in Falmouth to partake in the iconic Falmouth Road Race, but this year’s race is taking place across the country as part of the Falmouth Road Race At Home Edition.
The virtual race gives participants the chance to run or walk a total of seven miles between August 15 and August 29 in their own neighborhoods.
Running on Island for the Island
This is MV Community Services third year participating in the race’s Numbers for Nonprofit program.
This year’s fundraising team is made up of 12 community members who have raised more than $13,900 of their $15,000 goal.
To date, more than $50,000 has been raised to benefit MV Community Services via the Numbers for Nonprofit program.
“It is an honor to be raising money for what I believe to be an incredibly worthy, important cause. Now, in particular, so many people within our community are struggling to get by, and I’m proud to know that the money I raise for MVCS will help some of them.”
Julia Spiro, Charity Team Member
Throughout the summer, our team has been busy fundraising, building awareness and having fun with this year’s virtual race format. A huge congratulations to all involved and thank you for running and walking on behalf of MV Community Services!
