Support groups can be psychotherapeutic, psycho-educational or supportive.

Caregiver Support Group

A support group for caregivers caring for a loved one with a physical illness or dementia. The group provides a forum for caregivers to meet and connect with others in similar circumstances. Group support and discussions include topics such as wellness, meditation, challenges, and joys of caregiving, reducing stress and increasing knowledge on caregiving issues and needs. Group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month 10:30am-12:00pm.

The Island Wide Youth Collaborative invites grandparents raising grandchildren to encourage support, exchange information and ideas, discuss various topics and provide free resources.

Novel CONNECTions

A non-traditional support group for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The group reads and discusses books with themes surrounding domestic and sexual violence, boundaries, interpersonal relationships, and family dynamics while promoting healthy relationships, empowerment, and self-care. The group focuses on themes related to healthy relationships and self-empowerment. Registration Required.

New Paths Support Group

New Paths is a program for adults who seek substance use support, and who may also experience co-occurring mental health disorders. The program includes a support group component (please note you must be enrolled in the program to attend the support group) – find out more here.


Transgender & Gender Non-Conforming Support Group

MVCS offers a support group for adults of all ages who identify as transgender, non-binary, or any of the other identities on the gender spectrum. The group meets virtually on Zoom Wednesdays from 5:00 – 6:30pm. Individuals interested in attending must contact group leader, Allison, prior to attending.

WOC Support Group

A space for Women of Color to gather, express themselves and learn from one another. This group meets on Tuesday from 5-6pm via Zoom.

This group is a partnership between MV Community Services CONNECT to End Violence and Island Wide Youth Collaborative with Island schools to support high school students on Martha’s Vineyard.

Veterans Support Group

Readjustment Counseling for War Veterans. Island Counseling Center offers focused individual and group services to returning war veterans. A support group meets weekly to discuss the challenges of reintegrating after the war experience.
