VINEYARD HAVEN, MA. (January 7, 2026) Martha’s Vineyard Community Services (MVCS) is establishing a new, unified Family Support Network designed to make it easier for Island caregivers to access support for children from pregnancy through adolescence and beyond. As part of this effort, the MVCS Family Resource Center will relocate from the agency’s main campus at 111 Edgartown Road in Oak Bluffs to 35 Greenwood Avenue in Vineyard Haven, where it will be co-located at the MVCS Family Center beginning March 1.

Supported by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and Children’s Trust, the MVCS Family Center provides free, strength-based support to families with children pre-natal care through age 8, including playgroups, parent education workshops, parent support groups, developmental information, and connection to community resources. The MVCS Family Resource Center, funded by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF), offers multi-cultural parenting programs, support groups, information and referral resources and education for families whose children range in age from birth to 18 years of age.

Bringing these two programs together under one roof will create a comprehensive Family Support Network that supports Vineyard families across all stages of childhood, from expecting parents to caregivers of teens and young adults. The co-location will streamline access to services, reduce duplication of efforts, and improve outcomes for families by offering one-stop, coordinated support and reducing the need for caregivers to travel between locations. Families will be able to walk into a single, welcoming space and be connected to the right program, staff member, or resource regardless of their child’s age.

The 35 Greenwood Avenue site also offers significant physical advantages for families and staff. In addition to expanded outdoor space for community events, playgroups, and meetings, the new location provides ample indoor square footage to meet anticipated state regulatory requirements for Family Resource Center facilities. The larger, more flexible space will allow MVCS to host simultaneous groups, workshops, and drop-in hours, and to adapt programming as community needs evolve.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer an enhanced continuum of services and supports for families at a single location,” said Heather Quinn, MVCS Director of Early Childhood Programs. “As has been demonstrated in other parts of the state, co-location creates a powerful hub for family well-being, making essential community resources conveniently accessible in one place.”

The new Family Support Network strengthens MVCS’s ability to support Island families by bringing guidance, resources, and connection together in one accessible location.
