February 18, 2025–Martha’s Vineyard Community Services (MVCS), a non-profit social service agency that provides a range of programs across the five towns of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, announced today the appointment of Dean Teague as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Teague has more than two decades of experience leading non-profit community healthcare organizations, will begin his new role in mid-March. He succeeds Beth Folcarelli, who departed the agency at the end of 2024. During the interim period, Scott Turton, Chief Administrative Officer of MVCS, will continue to fulfill the responsibilities of interim CEO.

Mr. Teague served as President and CEO of CalvertHealth System, a non-profit, community-owned health system based in Prince Frederick, Maryland, from 2012 to 2023. With more than 1,500 employees, CalvertHealth provides residents of Calvert County in southern Maryland with medical services ranging from acute and critical care to rehabilitation and home health services. Before joining CalvertHealth, he was Vice President of Operations at Washington Adventist Hospital in Tacoma Park, Maryland, and prior to that, served as Senior Medical Administrator of the White House Medical Unit in Washington D.C. Mr. Teague began his career in healthcare in 1995 as an Officer in the United States Navy Medical Corps, where he served for 24 years, leading healthcare planning and operations in support of U.S. military missions, including casualty care during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and working with international partners to strengthen healthcare systems in NATO-aligned nations.
Mr. Teague received a Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from the University of New Haven and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Maryland. He is a Fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a former Executive Board Member and past chair of the Legislative & Government Affairs Council of the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA), and a member of the Chief Executive Officer Roundtable.
Mr. Teague was selected by the Board of Martha’s Vineyard Community Services following a comprehensive national and local search assisted by Ford Webb Associates, a national executive search firm that specializing in chief executive recruiting for nonprofit, government and corporate organizations.
Founded in 1961, Martha’s Vineyard Community Services (MVCS) is a non-profit community social services agency that enhances the lives of islanders from every corner of the Vineyard community and in every season of their lives. With a staff of professionals and clinicians, MVCS works with a corps of volunteers and local schools, hospital, town and county officials, as well as other organizations, creating a web of support for the island’s diverse population of children, families, teens and adults. MVCS serves one-in-four of Martha’s Vineyard’s 17,000 year-round residents, funded by local, state and federal contracts and grants, as well as public and private support.
