Possible Dreams is Martha’s Vineyard Community Service’s largest annual fundraiser. The event gives people the opportunity to purchase unique on and off-Island experiences, while giving back to MVCS. Since its inception, Possible Dreams has raised over $8 million for Community Services.

Save the date for Sunday, July 26, 2020 for an evening guaranteed to impact our Island community well-beyond the summer.

We’re inviting you and three friends to “take a closer look” with Seth Meyers as VIP guests to his show Late Night with Seth Meyers.  You’ll have great seats to watch the filming of the show, plus you’ll have a meet and greet with Seth.  While you’re in NYC, do what New Yorkers do, go to the MET. Join Cathy Walthers, cookbook author and co-founder of Slow Food Martha’s Vineyard, co-founder of Island Grown Initiative, for a gourmet trip around the Island. You and five guests will travel with Cathy as she guides you through a day of culinary adventures.  Stops will include a tour of Allen Farm, the oldest working farm on Martha’s Vineyard. You’ll sample Allen Farm lamb before heading over to The Grey Barn & Farm for a cheese tasting and dairy tour. Go from Up Island to Down Island for a 1 ½ hour tour at The Lagoon Pond Dock at the Cottage City Oyster Farm, including an educational tour of the workboat as you observe the beginnings of the baby oyster seeds to harvesting market oysters.  Once all the adventures have ended, you’ll drive over to the modern and elegant Slough Farm to enjoy a farm to table locally sourced dinner prepared by guest chef Austin Racine with the provisions from the day’s tours as well as fresh produce from Morning Glory Farm and additional incidentals from Vineyard GrocerYour Market will provide the wine, beer and sparkling water for the dinner.  As a keepsake of this culinary experience, the winning bidder will take home two flour sack tea towels by local artist, Cut Paper Island, and an exquisitely hand-carved wooden bowl from Chappaquiddick Wood Co. made from a tree on the Vineyard. Are you ready to Rock the Red in Washington, D.C.?  The Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup in 2018 and now it’s your turn to win big.  Capitals’ owners Jack Davies and Kay Kendall are inviting four people to enjoy a home game from the owner’s box during the 2019 – 2020 regular season.  Watch the game and enjoy dinner and drinks as though you owned the Stanley Cup Champs. Step off the treadmill of life and escape to Misty Meadows Equine Learning Center. Five couples are invited for a two-day, one-night  retreat at the horse center with horse experiences, that can include meditation, horse communication, yoga, or equine learning depending on the preference of the group.  Guests will check in at Misty Meadows the first morning for an orientation and the first horse experience followed by lunch provided by Life at Humphrey’s and an afternoon activity plus yoga or meditation guided by Jen DeLorenzo.  That evening, guests will enjoy dinner for 10 at Sweet Life Cafe in Oak Bluffs.  The next morning, the guests will join photographer, Michael Blanchard for a beach sunrise and a morning of photography.  The sunrise walk will include a guided experience with Annie Colangeli using singing bowls, drums and other instruments.  Once they return to the equine center, they will be greeted with breakfast pastries from Scottish Bakehouse and start the day’s activities including another horse experience, yoga or meditation, more photography and hiking through the surrounding trails around the center.   Lunch will be included as well as a wrap up session to conclude the retreat. Your amazing dinner will be prepared by professional baker and Orange Peel Bakery owner, Juli Vanderhoop.  The menu will celebrate their joint histories and love of the Island. As an Aquinnah Wampanoag tribe member, Juli’s style of cooking honors and reflects her Native American ancestors. Dr. Harris is a long-time seasonal resident and author of 15 books primarily focused on culinary history, foodways, and African diaspora.  Dr. Harris will curate the dinner along with Juli and read from texts between courses.
