Martha’s Vineyard Transportation Access Program 2025/2026
About the Transportation Access Program:
The Transportation Access Program assists Island residents and families with excessive costs of off-Island travel due to long-term illness and health/mental health needs requiring services not available on the Island.
The Transportation Access Program began in 2016, and since then has helped over 400 Island families with off-Island travel expenses.
All Martha’s Vineyard residents are eligible to apply for up to $750.00 annually in off-island travel assistance to medical/mental health appointments. Requests over $750.00 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Dear Island Residents,
The Transportation Access Program (TAP) is currently on hold due to funding limitations. The Island Wide Youth Collaborative (IWYC) remains hopeful for the program’s return and is actively exploring sustainable funding solutions.
Please check this webpage for the latest updates on the program’s status. All future announcements will be posted here.
In the interim, our team is available to assist community members in identifying alternative transportation resources. We particularly encourage families with children aged 0–18 to contact our Family Resource Center for comprehensive, wraparound support.
We also advise previous TAP clients to continue saving all documentation for off-island medical appointments scheduled after July 1, 2025, including: Proof of appointment, travel receipts (ferry, bus, taxi, gas, parking), and hotel accommodation receipts. These records will be vital should the program resume.
For further questions, please contact us at 508-693-7900 ext. 406.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to enhance healthcare access for all island residents.
